Samhain is the midpoint between the Autumnal Equinox (Mabon) and the Winter Solstice (Yule). Samhain originates from the Celtic cycle of life, death, and the seasons, known as the Wheel of the Year. Samhain marks the return of the dark-half of the Celtic calendar.

By observing Samhain traditions, both celebratory and dead-serious, the ancients carried out rituals of faith to survive through winter until the Light Half returned in spring. It is an auspicious time for you to carry out rituals and celebrations to honor your own ancestors and mortal spirit, and to “keep the faith” and protect your home and energy as winter approaches.
